Two of the biggest attractions for guests at our Montana vacation rentals are the nearby Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park, both of which feature up-close-and-personal views of bison, elk, bear and big horn sheep, as well as small wildlife like squirrels. The famous Old Faithful geyser catches the eye of almost every visitor to Yellowstone; waterfalls, lakes and hot springs, including the beautiful Emerald Pools, are also breathtaking. These two parks alone attract visitors from all over the world.

Fishing dominates the summer season in Montana, while skiing is popular in winter. However, off-season events can be found, such as the Smith Lake Ice Fishing Derby held in Kalispell each January. Of course, Montana is also cowboy country, with plenty of the old west flavor to appeal to visitors of Montana vacation rentals.

Miles City, touted as the "Friendliest Town in the West," celebrates this heritage with cowboy-oriented events, including the yearly sale of bucking horses. The residents of Montana, while known for their friendly and laid-back personalities, are also fiercely independent and self-reliant, making Montana a great family destination, as well as an excellent vacation spot for conservation-minded visitors.
