About Waimea Vacation Rentals
Our Waimea vacation rentals offer the ideal setting to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Big Island of Hawaii. This scenic region of rolling ranchlands and stunning vistas is located just far enough above sea level so the air is just a bit cooler than the coastal towns, making it very comfortable all year around.

Things To Do
For an exciting ride across the pasturelands along the western slopes of the Kohala Mountains, take a countryside ATV excursion or horseback ride at the Kahua Ranch and take in the amazing views. Kahua is a working cattle, sheep and horse ranch and also offers evening cowboy-themed entertainment along with a delicious barbecue.

You can also go horseback riding at Parker Ranch which covers thousands of acres of the Big Island with more than 60,000 cattle making it one of the nation's largest cattle ranches. Parker Ranch also offers historic home tours to learn more about the ranch's founders including their extensive art collections.

For beach activities head over to the Kohala Coast where you will find beautiful white-sand beaches and opportunities for everything from snorkeling and scuba diving to sunset sails and dinner cruises as well as whale watching tours during the winter months.

Eat and Shop
Despite being a fairly small town, Waimea offers lots of interesting shopping and places to eat as well as night life. There is a large supermarket, boutique shopping, art galleries and a variety of dining options from Hawaii Regional Cuisine at Merriman's Kauai to a paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) atmosphere at the Parker Ranch Broiler.

You can also find some excellent dining options in the resort areas along the Kohala Coast, as well as boutique shops with Hawaiian art and collectibles.

Getting Around
A rental car is recommended when staying in Waimea vacation rentals giving you easy access to the Kohala Coast and other Big Island beaches and attractions. Kona International Airport is about 45 minutes away, and you can make the drive to Hilo in about one hour and fifteen minutes
